    Coordinates and instructs American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) raining programs for healthcare professionals.

    Assists in the clinical and marketing efforts of the Clinical Simulation Center, and other special projects upon request. Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations. Maintains instruction/training aids and equipment. Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings, serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned. Plans and instructs Continuing Education Courses for healthcare professionals and lay rescuer within the AHA guidelines.

    Oversees all software development for SiTEL (Simulation and Training Environment Lab) and ensures the reliable and smooth operation of software solutions. Leads SiTEL’s LMS, serious games, and simulator software development teams to develop and deploy applications on SiTEL’s platform. Collaborates with SiTEL’s On-Line Training and Clinical Simulation Centers (CSCs) service lines to align standards and processes across the organization. Responsible for SiTEL’s solutions architecture, main applications, navigational features, and performance/ availability while continually refining them with direct input from customers. Ensures SiTEL attracts, develops, and retains the best technical talent.  Master’s degree in computer science or mathematics with computer science minor is required. PhD in Computer Science is preferred.  7+ years as a professional developer; 10+ years as a Senior Development Manager for Web based and client based applications. Demonstrated experience managing large teams to bring new web-based products successfully to market. Experience managing profit and loss. No special certification, registration, or licensure is required.

    The position works closely with faculty and other subject matter experts to develop simulation curriculum and progress the effective use of simulation-based training among assigned faculty. The incumbent is assigned to specific faculty members and/or departments where issues are moderately complex. The position requires a clinical background combined with understanding of simulation technologies and adult learning techniques.

    Education: Associate’s degree in healthcare related field plus more than 10 years of relevant job experience or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field is required. Master’s degree preferred.
    Prior Experience: Five to seven years that includes developing and implementing clinical training and education.
    Certification/Registration/Licensure: None required.

    The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize SiTEL projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle. Bachelor’s Degree in the field of healthcare, information technology, or project management.  6-10 years work experience in a project management capacity. PMP Certification is required within 6 months of employment.

    Simulation Specialist Sr., SiTEL

    Under the direction of the Clinical Simulation Center (CSC) Operations Manager, provides technical and operational oversight for the Clinical Simulation Center to ensure participants and Simulation Center customers receive quality services in simulated health care education. Assists with the supervision of Simulation Specialists, and makes recommendations and reports findings for all operational processes.

    Assists with the design of new simulators and simulator technology. Recommends solutions or suggestions for improving the CSC operational model. Conducts orientation for course participants to the Clinical Simulation Center, to Human Patient Simulators such as SimMan and orients them to set expectations of performance in simulated environments to support a positive and safe learning experience. Installs software and hardware upgrades and maintains functionality of manikin components as directed by manufacturer support. Maintains knowledge of current simulation solutions including equipment and best practices.

    Our expert clinicians, technical specialists, and learning management system/software team analyze, design, develop, and evaluate and deliver multi-platform educational content in the clinical domain.
    We are expanding our QA team with a full time permanent staff member to help with the quality assurance and testing of several new Learning Management System upgrades involving critical releases with fixes and enhancements to the system. These are essential in helping MedStar employees stay up to date on critical skills needed to maintain certified in their fields.

     

    Key Functions:

    • Develops, implements, and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and activities.
    • Plans, designs and uses systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain standards and assure the quality of software code and artifacts.
    • Communicates results of quality testing to programming team and consults on corrective actions.
    • Maintains documentation of test cases and test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.
    • Collaborates with business analysts on verification and validation of regulated application systems.
